3Full of goodies, but pretty cheap  Feb 25, 2010
You've heard, "You get what you pay for". That is true for this item. It has so many goodies attached to it so you have to wonder if it can deliver as much as it offers. Yes the extra USB Ports all worked just fine, and it's nice to have the extras. The card reader is okay, but it is not secured to the body very well, and the SD Card slot was blocked by a piece of sheet tin that I had to push out of the way before I could fit the only Card I use into it. The speakers sound pretty good, if you take into consideration that they are not meant to compete with high dollar sound systems. Since the speakers on my laptop are very good, I will probably rarely use the speakers anyway. Now to the number one reason I bought the whole deal. The cooling fans are the best I have used yet. I have had 3 other sets of cooling fans. One was pure trash that couldn't even hold the weight of the laptop and didn't cool worth beans. The other two were fairly good at cooling the laptop down and supported the laptop just fine. This unit has the best cooling fan ever. Where the others kept the core temps at around 156 degrees farenheit, these cool down to 136 degrees! That is unbelievable! If for no other reason, this docking station is worth buying just to cool your laptop. It sucks the hot air down from the laptop and blows it out the back of the docking station keeping the heat away from you. Overall I'd say this docking station does everything it is supposed to and rather well at that.
